Im in full work mode right now. Designing/Making my Spring & Summer lines is the best time of the whole year for me. I feel so inspired and ready to make things that I think will be usefuland beautiful in other peoples lives.
I picture how people will wear the clothes and my heart skips a beat when it all comes together.
I have 5 styles of swimsuit this time around and Im thrilled with all of them (Ill have pics up soon!) Also Im finally going to update my website Isha-b.com! A new etsy store is also underway.
Check back in a few weeks to see all these changes......

I just discovered this site LookBook.nu, it's full of awesomeness and wonder.
So basically stylish folks from all around the world post pictures of different looks they like & want others to like.
Sometimes it's actual stylists or designers but other times people posting are random fashonistas.
It's really blows my mind when you can clearly see a zeitgeist amongst everyone. Time really gets away from you while your browsing "looks", I spent 2 hours!

No more Mayle, very very very sad to say the least.
I understand though.
I remember looking at fashion from a diffrerent perspective; when I was a teenager dreaming of New York and far off places and a made up sophistication. When my aspirations were to wear cool clothes from Mayle and do grown up things and turn 25. I cherished each collection Jane Mayle designed as if I had designed it myself.

Mayle Zora Top
$410.00 by Mayle at eLuxury
At least theres one last collection to scoop up, and there will always be Vintage Mayle on Ebay.

Take a look into a day in the life of a fashion designer............
9:00am- Breakfast
Yes, A cupcake is breakfast!
I could inhale these, its a good thing there is not a Crumbs Bakery in my neck of the woods.

10:00 am- Get to work, well my living room actually.
Now the challenge, turn this pile of printed chiffon into something wearble.

Personally I think this is the best part of the process. Even after 9 years of making stuff I'm still amazed when I finish a project.
1:00 pm- Sweat Shop
One woman sweat shop.
Making progress, a little bit of music, a Sewing Machine named Janome and her friends Serger and Coverstitch. Im glad were all friends........
2:00 pm- Super "Kawaii"
Not bad for half a days work. I love how this one turned out! Can't wait to put it up on my Etsy.

3:00 Time to clean up, and start the next project
Mini Skirts Anyone?

I am in love with Heart Shaped Sunglasses! They come in all colors, big or small, plastic & metal.
Remember the adorable plastic kind you could buy in the grocery store when you were in 5th grade. Well they're back...........
Check out a model at my Spring 2009 show sporting some:

I'm totally smitten with knitting. I don't know what happened, it just came from nowhere.
About a week ago I was sitting at my table working on my Spring collection when I realized the collection needed something else. My latest collection is a real artsy homemade mix of t shirt dresses, jumpers and tunics in fun colors and tie dye. I wanted to create pieces that just feel right, no effort no pretense.
To me knits really personify that attitude. Knit fabrics can be molded into soo many shapes and worn with soo many different garments. So I set out to make lil sweaters to marry my adorable t shirt dresses.
And now here I am with a plethora of knitting needles, a brand new knitting machine and a ton of books. I wonder where this new obsession will take me.........

Make November 4Th an important day in your life.
Who cares who you vote for, but vote.
Be heard.
Vote because it's a privilege that we live in America and not a country like Zimbabwe were you'll face negative consequences for voting.
Remember that your not powerless.................

So on a spur of the moment trip out of the house I decided to visit my local Barnes & Noble. I scored the last copy of a very illusive magazine called Russh.......
(Russh is a bi-monthly mag out of Australia and its sometimes challenging getting a copy.)
It's a good mix of straight up fashion with behind the scenes pics from Fashion week, gorgeous fashion layouts and interesting articles to read. I like finding out about who the up & coming designers in Australia are but the cool thing is that International fashion is also spotlighted.
Reading it is like belonging to a secret fashion cult.

A year ago I was surfing Etsy and I came across these stuffed animals that were knitted/crocheted.
They all had the word Amigurumi in the tags/title so I googled it. So innocent, sublime and sweet. I've been obsessed with these adorable little crocheted creations ever since.
Check out one of my favorite Etsy sellers:

Google Amigurumi, theres a whole world of them
Happy web surfing.......
